Our spacious park has panoramic views, and is generously planted with trees, shrubs, flower beds and hanging baskets.The Vale of Pickering Caravan Park is owned and run by the Stockdale family. We are a farming family who diversified into tourism in 1984. The caravan park started as a small venture of just 5 caravans and has steadily grown into the award winning park that we have today. We would love to welcome you to our park and our beautiful area.We also still run the farm which is a mixture of arable and dairy. We milk 130 cows twice a day and you will be able to see them grazing our fields in the summer months. Our milk is sold to Arla who process our milk before it heads for the shops. We grow a mixture of Wheat, Barley and Maize and you will often spot us working in the nearby fields.CampingOur grassed camping areas are all level and can accommodate all tent sizes. As well as having camping pitches on the main site we also have an adjoining camping field. Some pitches for tents have electric hook up (6 amp) but these are limited in number. 6 amp hook ups are suitable for low wattage appliances only. Pre-Booking for tents is not essential (unless hook up required) for most of the season but pre-booking is advisable for bank holidays, school holidays and any weekends where there may be a special event in the area. We have one main facilities block which is central to the park and the furthest away pitch is still only a 3 minute walk. From the camping field there are stunning views of the local countryside. TouringSpacious all weather touring pitches are suitable for touring caravans and motorhomes up to a maximum length of 27ft. Pitches are all level and are well drained. We have a chemical disposal point and a motor home waste water point. We pre-allocate pitches on booking and will always try our best to meet any requests made. Pre-booking is not always necessay but is advisable during bank holidays, school holidays, special local events and at weekends. Touring pitches have a 10amp electric hook up supply. There are some touring pitches that overlook the children’s play area. Our centrally heated washrooms are situated in a central location within the park.FacilitiesWashrooms- The centrally heated washrooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. We provide ladies and gents baths, showers, shaver points, hand dryers, hair dryers, ladies make-up area (inc socket for own hairdryer or straighteners) private wash cubicles, baby changing and some disabled facilities(see access statement)Launderette- The launderette has two washing machines, two dryers and ironing facilities. A microwave and ice pack freezer are also provided. A seperate enclosed area is available for washing up and food preperation.Dogs- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash whilst on the site. There is a 6 acre dog walk for exercising.Shop- A licensed shop caters for most needs. We stock bacon and sausages from our local award winning butcher B W Glaves and sons. We also stock basic caravan and camping spares, calor gas, butane , propane and camping gaz.Play- The Vale of Pickering is ideal for young families as we have a large well equipped play area.
