About this campground
Hanmore Lake is one of the last hidden gems left in northern Alberta. With it being only a 20 minute drive north of Smoky Lake, you are just a short drive from lots of ammenities including a hospital, pharmacy, tire shop, hardware store,24 hour gas station, liqour stores, & grocery stores to stock up on those last minute forgotten items that will make your camping trip a memorable one. The east campground consists of 16 sites and one large group site, these sites are well treed and spaced far enough apart that you have privacy from others,a main beach & day use area with a playground,as well as clean sandy waters to swim in.

Hanmore does not get the green / blue algae like most lakes in Alberta get every summer. It's shallow along the shores and deep in the middle keeping it cool,as well as being spring fed. The west campground is located on the far west side of the lake and can be accessed by driving straight west off of highway 855 on township road 612. West campground is bigger with a total of 39 sites, hosts a smaller beach/swimming area, cook shelter, small playground. Sites #1-22 are located in a more open commom area i call the open loop, withsites #26-30 being on the waterfront & larger sites that can accommodate 3 or more units (depending on size and how you park of course)Sites #31-39 being located along the bushside of the road and more private. Your first trip out will never be your last as most of the campers who chose Hanmore lake are repeat campers from their childhood days.
