One day we may be able to live without them, but for the moment we think you have to have that little bit of luxury. There is nothing like a good strong shower and a flushing toilet.Things to doIf you are not busy enough setting up camp and managing your fire, the Eridge Park Estate offers the perfect environment to roam and explore. While your kids will be happiest hanging out in the woods around the campsite, you may like to walk a little further to find the Caves, the follies and the Saxon fort. Let's not exaggerate because this is not a theme park, but the Estate has plenty of natural and architectural history.ActivitiesNew for 2013 in addition to Bushcraft we are offering Forest School ad Art classes, with occasional Drumming circles and other fun things to do. Please click on the relvant tabWalksThe Eridge Estate is criss-crossed with numerous carriageways, linking the campsite to the Tunbridge Wells Circular Path and the Sussex Border Path. Our visitors can use the carriageways to go on a short circular walk, about an hour which takes you past the caves and Chalybeate Springs, or a longer 3 hour walk around the perimeter of the Estate. At Frant you can visit the George Pub and enjoy a meal or drink before returning to the campsite past the lakes.WoodsThe campsite sits in a 100 acre wood which provides a unique playground for our younger visitors. We do not have any rides or formal entertainment. But our experience has been that anyone who thinks of themselves as a child will be happily entertained for days on end.We are always investigating alternatives and hope to have composting toilets in the woods and showers in the trees. But these raise more issues with the ecologists and planners. We will get it sorted!Having high quality portable units ensures that you are always comfortable. In the future we will offer choices so that you can either have the comfort or you can have the experience.
