About this campground

Located one hour and 20 minutes southwest of Paisley in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, Campbell Lake Campground offers a scenic high mountain lake setting with 18 campsites featuring picnic tables and fire rings. The campground includes three vault toilets, with potable water and garbage service available during the operating season from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A separate day use area provides additional picnic tables and a vault toilet. Campbell Lake is lined with grassy and pebbly shores and is stocked with rainbow trout, making it a popular destination for fishing, swimming, and boating.

A boat ramp accommodates non-motorized boats or those with electric motors only, with a 5 mph speed limit on the lake. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Lakes Trail System, which offers interconnected loops of varying lengths between Campbell Lake and Deadhorse Lake, suitable for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Visitors should note that the trail system passes through the 2021 Bootleg Fire footprint, and caution is advised due to post-fire hazards including dead and down trees. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with moderate usage levels.
