About this campground

Just 25 minutes from Port McNeill, Clint Beek Recreation Site is located on beautiful Keogh Lake. A popular summer destination for island residents, this site was built by MacMillan Bloedel in the late 1990's and named after Clint Beek - a prominent member of the community and long-time employee of M&B. A grassy area, picnic shelter and sandy beach provide for plenty of day use opportunities with a rough boat launch into Keogh Lake (non motorized only please). There is a host on site during the summer months with 13 campsites available for overnight use.

At the request of Kwakiutl First Nation, RSTBC will not be supporting the use of motorized boating on Keogh (Giyuxw) Lake through the Clint Beek Rec Site beginning in 2022. Users who wish to participate in motorized recreation on the lake will not be permitted to use the rec site or associated dock. This decision has been made in support of Reconciliation efforts, at the request of the Kwakiutl First Nation, to better manage and protect the Giyuxw watershed and it's associated fishery. Please pack out what you pack in as there are no garbage disposal services at the rec site. Only a portion of the sites are available for reservation (Sites 4,7-11,14), with 50% remaining first come first serve. Please see the Site Map below for specific sites available for reservation as well as the Reservation and Refund Policy for more information. **Number of campsites** 14 campsites **Camping fee** $18.00/day Senior Rate $9.00/day (PROMO CODE: Senior) Persons with Disability $9.00/day (PROMO CODE: Disability) **Fee applies** June 19, 2026 - September 6, 2026 All Days **Getting there** Heading north on Hwy 19, drive past the turnoff to Port McNeill until you come to the junction of the West Main. Turn left onto the mainline - the Clint Beek Recreation Site is roughly 14 km from the highway (on gravel road). At 3.4 km, veer left onto the Keogh Main; then left onto the Cluxewe Main at 7.5 km. At the 10.5 km mark there'll be another obvious junction - turn right. Keep following the road, bearing right at the next two junctions, and soon you'll come to Keogh Lake and the site. DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY AND EXPECT TO MEET LOGGING TRAFFIC.
