About this campground
We have over 16 acres of water, rock, pine and hardwood forest. Our house overlooks a large beaver pond, over a ridge from our driveway. Our property also backs onto several hundred acres of woodland, which you can easily walk through on a little-used public gravel road beside our neighbour's house. We live in an area where everyone sends their children to summer camps and within a half hour's drive of three beautiful provincial parks: Murphy's Point, Silver Lake and Sharbot Lake. The closest town is Perth (15 minutes away): this is where we buy groceries, gas, beer, wine, etc.

It is 200+ years old and has very pretty historic stone buildings, built by stonemasons from Scotland who settled here after finishing the nearby Rideau Canal (a UNESCO world heritage site) and the parliament buildings in Ottawa. It’s a very scenic village, one of the prettiest in Canada. Lots of little shops and green space. There’s a small farmers' market on Saturday mornings and a very good local museum (also the tourism office) on main street. You can also go to Westport (20 minutes away) for fun shopping, and just a lovely little village to walk around. Go sit on the patio overlooking the pond at The Cove restaurant and check out the little marina on the lake (Westport is in the middle of two large lakes, which you’ll see as you drive down the hill into town.) Or go to Foley Mountain Park, which has a wonderful beach and great nature trails.
