Blakeley Lane is an Eco friendly training and camping facility, set in Sherwood Forest, only 4 miles from the Major Oak and 4.2 miles from Sherwood Pines.Site FacilitiesWe take pride in the environmental nature of the site by using a natural soak away, solar lighting, recycling rain water for toilets and have recently been granted planning permission for 3 Cob Pods (buildings made of sand, clay and straw). The site is a native woodland, with Oak, Maple and silver birch, together with thousands of woodland flowers as Daffodils, Snow drops, forget me-nots and Blue bells. so the site looks fantastic and natural whatever the season.

The aim of the site is to show the next generation how we can live comfortably without it costing the earth, enabling visitors to try traditional skills and techniques in cooking (2 Clay Pizza Ovens), wood preparation (An undercover wood preparation area) and construction (cobstruction, building using sand, clay and straw). All of these skills are fun and interesting for all ages. The 8 cubicled toilet block has been carefully refurbished to give the effect of bringing the outdoors in. Being 2.5 acres, Blakeley Lane is an ideal size for a Sherwood Forest hideaway with a play-park consisting of a swing, slide, climbing frame and tractor tyres. There is a large clearing for field games and there are also three allocated fire pit areas. One fire pit area is sunken into the ground and can be used for social activities / eating / meeting point, holding approximately 150 people.The site can be used by "camping exempt" groups only and due to access restrictions the lane needs to be accessed by mini bus, limited vehicles access applies.
