Clumber Park was once the estate of the Dukes of Newcastle, and is now owned by the National Trust. The house was demolished in 1938 but there is still evidence of the historic buildings that once stood to be explored. [more-start] The Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre is a mere 10 miles from Clumber Park Club Campsite and offers many attractions to entertain and educate about this legendary figure. The Major Oak is a must as it is said that he had hidden here, along with his merry men. The Clumber Park food festival, held in the heart of the forest, is a great opportunity to experience culinary delights and sample local beverages. The city of Nottingham is within easy reach of the campsite. For cyclists, along with the new bike wash and bike maintenance station, there's also a secure cycle store allowing you to safely and securely store your bike. Please note: do not arrive at Clumber Park before 1pm, as new National Trust parking restrictions means that there is nowhere to wait safely or turn around. Reception at this site may close earlier than 8pm and staff may not be available to greet you. If this is the case, don’t worry, you can still arrive on site until 8pm. We will simply contact you on your day of arrival with details of how to check-in. Please ensure your contact details are up to date on your Membership profile.
