About this campground
Route 113 provides seasonal access through Evans Notch to this hike-in wilderness area spanning the New Hampshire-Maine border. Campers park at established trailheads and follow the Wild River Trail to reach dispersed camping opportunities throughout the designated wilderness. The US Forest Service manages multiple established camping areas within the boundaries, some retaining tent platforms and fire rings from former shelter sites. Dispersed camping requires following wilderness regulations: sites must be 100-200 feet from water sources and trails, with campfires only permitted in designated areas.
