Reservations can be made 6 months in advance.   WHALEN ISLAND COUNTY CAMPGROUND OFFERS YEAR-ROUND CAMPING Summer Camping Rates:  May - September Winter Camping Rates:  October - April Limited site availability during the winter season. Campground day use areas close at 8:00 PM Check-in is 3:30 PM Check-out is 1:30 PM   LATE WINTER/SPRING CAMPING Whalen Island County Campground is prone to flooding during the winter season and may experience extended site closures in the spring if the ground is not dry enough to accommodate camping and/or support the weight of vehicles and people.
