There are a number of hiking tracks from 20 mins to 5 hours within walking distance of the camp ground. Nearby is the Whakapapa ski field with more hikes, panoramic views and a gondola to New Zealand's highest cafe. Tussock Pub, Skotel bar and restaurant and Pihanga cafe within walking distance.
