About this campground

Welcome to Weston Dairy Campsite, situated in the Isle of Purbeck, on the magnificent Jurassic Coast.Weston Farm is located in the village of Worth Matravers with superb sea views and tranquil surroundings.There is an extensive network of footpaths linking to the South West Coastal Path, a World Heritage Site.Camping SiteWe have allocated 13 acres of level ground for camping. The field adjoins our main daytime dairy and calf grazing areas giving a true “on the farm” feel to the site.There is convenient access from the field onto a public footpath which leads east to the village, the Square and Compass Pub and Winspit.

Walking west will take you to Chapman’s Pool and to The Scott Arms at Kingston.FacilitiesFrom 2011 the site is only able to accommodate tent camping.Hot showers and loos provided.Small catering shed offering Hot and Cold drinks, Homemade Cakes, Bacon Sandwiches, Ice Cream and locally produced Burgers.RulesDogs allowed as long as they are kept closely under control.No loud music. Quiet after 11pm.Fires are allowed but must be off the ground to avoid damage to the grassland.The FarmWeston Farm has been in the Strange family since 1919. It is a mixed dairy and arable unit covering 750 acres.150 cows are milked twice a day and all the calves and heifers are reared on the farm. Various arable crops are grown and are harvested during July and August. There are 5 full-time members of staff. Rob Field is the farm manager, John Bugler the head tractor driver and Josh Fincham the Herdsman. Jemima Hardy looks after the youngstock and in her spare time will be running the campsite. John Strange, the owner, oversees the running of the business. The land is on the West side of Worth Matravers and includes some of the most dramatic coastline in the country and some superb swimming at Winspit and Chapman's Pool.The Area As the Isle of Purbeck is such a well established holiday area there is a wealth of places to visit and things to do and here are a few links to the more local points of interest:The Square and Compass-world renowned pub specializing in excellent Real Ales and Ciders St Aldhelm’s HeadA stunning Headland with views along the coast to Durlston to the East and Portland to the West. It is also the site of a Norman Chapel and an operational Coastguard Station. Chapman’s PoolA sandy cove with shallow water swimming and great potential for fossil hunting along the shore. Winspit Cove and CavesA beautiful beach suitable for deep water swimming, rock pool fishing and exploring a disused Portland stone quarry site
