About this campground
A peaceful campsite with quality facilities set in the South Wales Valleys in Bridgend. We are nestled at the river’s edge on a working sheep farm surrounded by native trees.There are electric hook-ups available for all 60 pitches.We have a coarse fishery adjacent to the site and offer fishing as an additional option will be available in the near future.Access to many mountain bike trails and also the Celtic Trail make us an ideal activity break.The AreaWe are a family run site offering a countryside break within distance of Porthcawl, Cardiff and Swansea.There is a lot of history connected with the farm and you can find information on www.ourwelshfarm.co.uk we appeared on Fishlock’s trails and clothing from Hopkin Bach appears in the National Folk Museum in St Fagans along with our 2 seater toilet that is now in St Fagans grounds as part on the Kennixton Farmhouse exhibit.Fear not all our toilets on the caravan park are single units!Gilfach Goch, the setting for How Green was my Valley has a post office, Co-Op and fish and chip shop and is the nearest village.Glynogwr has a historical church with the pilgrim stone and stunning views of the countryside.Tonyrefail has many shops and take aways and is the home of the Welsh Chip shop of the year The Crispy Cod.Blackmill has a Café and 2 pubs both serving superb food.There will also be available local lamb to take home or BBQ or cook in your caravansCoarse Fishing will be available on site.Various Mountain Trails over Mynydd Y gaer or across the Ogmore Vale mountains.Access to the Celtic trail NCN route 4 is 250m from the park with access Celtic Trail East:West to SwanseaEast to Chepstow,crossing the Taff Trail in Pontypridd We are not too far from the film set of Stella See if you can recognise the landscapes on your travels.There are many walks available and we will be leading some historical walks on speciality weekends.Porthcawl is 15 miles away that will give you access to the Welsh Coastal path and surf schools.Bridgend Bites (www.bridgendbites.com) will give you all the information, places to see and visit in Bridgend.We are:8 miles from the McCarthur Glen Outlet at Sarn 18 miles from Cardiff.DirectionsOn the A4093 between Gilfach Goch and Glynogwr.Take Lakeside signs from junction 36 M4
