About this campground
Overview Within a half hour drive from the site you can access Tamworth, Atherstone, Market Bosworth or Ashby-de-la-Zouch. An hours drive would include Lichfield, Burton-on-Trent, Leicester or Birmingham. There are many local attractions such as Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo (including Thomas Land), Conkers, and Twycross Zoo - just 3 miles away! Historical sites nearby include Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, Tamworth Castle, Ashby Castle referred to in the novel Ivanhoe , and a Steam Railway known as the Battlefield-line, at Shackerstone. Calke Abbey is our nearest National Trust house but there is also Hardwick Hall (1 hour drive).

For a more active break there is the Snow Dome, Kingsbury Water Park and Rosliston Forestry Centre. Popular tourist attractions slightly further afield include the Black Country Living Museum, Cadbury World, Think Tank (Millennium Point in Birmingham), Sea Life Centre, the N.I.A. and N.E.C. This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more.
