About this campground

Nearly wild unregimented off grid quiet camping.

Wardley Hill Campsite is an award-winning, ecological, off-grid campsite located in the Waveney Valley, close to the Norfolk Broads and Suffolk Coast. Established in 2014, this family-owned site offers a back-to-basics camping experience across 12 acres of woodland, streams, and seasonal ponds. The site features a six-acre, car-free camping field exclusively for tents, where guests can choose their own unregimented pitch among the mown pathways and wild grasses. A separate area is available for campervans and rooftop tents. For those seeking a glamping experience, the site offers unique accommodations including the Tinkers Hut, the Tiny House and a Tree Tent.

Facilities are rustic yet well-maintained, featuring clean composting toilets, open-topped hot showers, and drinking water points throughout the site. Campfires are encouraged in provided fire drums, and dogs on leads are welcome. The site does not offer electric hookups, hot tubs, or numbered pitches, focusing instead on a peaceful, natural environment. Located between Bungay and Beccles, the campsite is within walking distance of a local village shop and a short drive or cycle from the community-run Locks Inn on the River Waveney. It is approximately a 35-minute drive from the beach and the city of Norwich.
