War Ridge - New River National Scenic River

This primitive campground sits along a curvy mountain road about a mile from the main route, accessible to RVs up to 30 feet despite the winding approach. War Ridge provides basic facilities including portable toilets and picnic tables, with campfires and pets both permitted on the grounds managed by the National Park Service. Campers consistently report strong cell service here, an unusual advantage for backcountry camping in West Virginia. The sites offer limited shade but provide expansive views of the night sky once darkness falls.
