About this campground

Situated in Norfolk just 3 miles from the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire borders, Virginia Lake comprises of a 97 pitch touring caravan park and tent site together with a 2 acre coarse fishing lake giving you 'Peace and Tranquility in the Fens'. To compliment this, we also have an excellent fully Licensed Clubhouse, superb toilet and shower blocks, full disabled facilities throughout the park and a well stocked Reception/shop for all of your grocery and fishing requirements.The English Tourism Council has rated us 4 Star and the AA as 4 Pennants, so you are reassured that you can expect careful attention to detail in the provision of all the services and facilities we have here and that we rank among the industries best.The ParkSet in glorious fenland countryside Virginia Lake is OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND (including Christmas and New Year) with availability of hard standing and grass pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. All sizes of units are catered for includings the largest A.R.V.'s.CARAVAN STORAGE is available here at the park, and LONG TERM AND SEASONAL PITCHES are also available if required.Caravan/motorhome rallies are welcome.Electric hook-up points are provided for all pitches on the park, along with plentiful water points.PRE-BOOKED pitches are available for ARRIVAL from 10 AM with DEPARTURE by 2 PM.PETS are most WELCOME here at Virginia Lake Caravan Park. We respect responsible dog owners who keep their pets on a lead whilst on site, and who keep The Park clean of fouling for our other guests.Virginia Lake is very lucky to be located extremely close to several lanes and grass banks which dog walkers may use, and where pets may be allowed to run free off lead.The site itself is well lit with low level lighting throughout and is monitored by C.C.T.V. with the gates being secured at night. Late arrivals to our park are provided with their own electric hook-up points within the car-park area. The LakeThe lake is extremely well stocked with Roach, Rudd, Bream, Barbel, Perch, Chub, Tench and Carp of 30 pounds plus.Covering 2 acres in size, with two island features, the fishing lake offers 20 fishing pegs including large family sized pegs plus 2 platformed and safety railed disabled fishing areas.The syndicate lake is only available to be fished by syndicate members or by guests staying on site. Although all ages are welcome, children under 16 may only fish if accompanied by an adult.Fishing is from 8 A.M. until just before dusk only with NO night fishing permitted.National rod licences are required, and basic fishing rules do apply - these include: all fish are to be landed and returned by net, an unhooking mat must be used on each peg, barbless hooks, no braid and no nut baits. Ground bait should only be used in moderation.Please note that children are only allowed near the lake if they are accompanied by an adult.Local AttractionsThere are lots of different places you can choose to visit. To find us, leave the A47 dual-carriageway that runs between the two towns at the junction sign-posted with the brown and white tourist board signs. Follow these signs for 3 miles heading towards Marshland St James, and you will come to a Post Office on a bend. Continue for another two hundred metres into Marshland St James and on the left hand side you will find the entrance to Virginia Lake Caravan Park.Enter the park, passing through the main carpark area, and you will see the Reception & Shop immediately on your left next to the Clubhouse and the toilet and shower blocks.Please stop here and check-in at Reception on arrival.
