There are four designated campsites, but dispersed camping is allowed here. Although there is no water available it is still a nice resting spot for hikers and bike riders. There are also horse corrals for equestrians looking for a place to camp. The closest towns with fuel and supplies are either… Datil, NM (43.3 miles, 57 minutes) Reserve, NM (37.7 miles, 59 minutes) Quemado, NM (30.9 miles, 56 minutes) The route to and from Quemado (heading north) covers more dirt road, whereas the route to Datil and Reserve (heading south) covers less dirt road. The good news is that road conditions both directions cover well-graded dirt, without much rocky, bumpy conditions. There are no trash cans at this campground.
