About this campground
Vävatto (Väytto)Vättos (Väytäjänsaari) offers a high-quality stop in the savoran lake landscapes surrounded by pines and cliffs. The island of Lapinlahti on the southern edge of the village was demolished in 2021, which has enabled a new life on the island. In 2022 the island has been opened for recreational use – also as a road park. The island is maintained by a non-profit association, Väärn Island Friends ry. Next to the island is Väärn harbour and historical Väärn priesthouse, national author Juhani Ahon was born home. Lappilahti village services (food stores, pharmacy, tokmanni, library, art museum Eemil, Artikola Luova Puu railway station's lunch and coffee and others) are short, about two kilometres away. Neste Mat and Liisa is located about 4 kilometres away from the highway and the village.
