About this campground
Boundary Creek Yurt is a backcountry winter rental operated by the Bear River Outdoor Recreation Alliance (BRORA) in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service. This is the original 16-foot diameter yurt that was relocated from the Bear Claw location. Located in the Uinta Mountains of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, it sits in a designated non-motorized use area, offering a true backcountry experience for experienced winter recreationists. The yurt is equipped with bunks to accommodate at least 4 people, a wood-burning stove with a supply of firewood, and basic amenities for winter camping.

Unlike the other BRORA yurts located along the groomed trail system near Lily Lake, Boundary Creek Yurt is off the main trail and requires more advanced backcountry skills to access. It can be reached via a 2-mile traverse from the Ridge Yurt or from the North Slope Winter Trailhead area. This yurt is ideal for those seeking solitude and untracked powder in the High Uintas. The surrounding terrain provides excellent opportunities for backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, and winter mountaineering. Reservations are managed through the Evanston Recreation Center, with nightly rates typically ranging from $50-$75.
