Tyddyn Du is located in the middle of ancient oak woodland, with truly spectacular views of Cadair Idris ... one of the highest mountains in wales.Tyddyn Du campsite is the most peaceful and tranquil place to stay in Mid Wales and is an ideal base for journeys throughout Snowdonia. The site was started in 1944, and is still managed by the same family. Though now into it's third generation.Site InformationThe campsite is ideal for both familes and single campers,whilst dogs are also welcome at Tyddyn Du ... provided they are well behaved. We also allow small campfires and logs are available on site.Facilities are basic with toilets and showers available at all times. The showers are included in campsite fees. Electric hook ups are also available on request. The fees at Tyddyn Du are: Adults £7.00 per night and Children £3.00 per night or one person in tent £7.00 per night. Charge for electric hook up is £5.00 per night and logs are £4.00 per bagActivitiesActivities in the area include: canoeing, fishing, rambling, sailing, mountain biking, and many other pastimes. Barmouth and Dolgellau are just five miles from the campsite with Harlech and Porth Madog within easy distance. Barmouth and Fairbourne both offer good beaches.DirectionsTyddyn Du campsite is exactly half way between Barmouth and Dolgellau on the A496. The site is sign posted and very easy to find.
