About this campground
Located on the west shore of Wrangell Island in the Tongass National Forest, Turn Island Beach Campsite offers primitive camping on a saltwater beach. The campsite includes two tent platforms suitable for camping and picnicking, along with a shared outhouse facility. The scenic location provides access to motorized and non-motorized boating opportunities along Zimovia Strait. The campsite is accessible either by water or via the Nemo Saltwater Access Trail, a 0.5-mile boardwalk trail that begins at the Nemo Saltwater Access Trailhead on Forest Road 6267. From Wrangell, the trailhead is approximately 14 miles south on Zimovia Highway, then right on Forest Road 6267 (Nemo-Skip Loop Road) to mile post 5.2. No potable water is available, so visitors must bring their own water supply.
