The mountains surrounding the park - Maglic, 2386m (the highest point in BiH); Volujak, 2337m; Zelengora, 2014m; Lelija, 2032m - and Vucevo Plateau (400-1700m) are part of the Dinara mountain massif (or Dinaric Alps) Just to the east of SNP lies the Piva Mountains and Piva River Canyon, and beyond those, the Tara River Canyon (the deepest canyon in Europe and second only to the Grand Canyon in theUSA in respect of its beauty and grandeur), which is part of Durmitor National Park in neighbouring Montenegro. ACCESS TO SUTJESKA NP The main road between Sarajevo and Trebinje passes 12 km through the park. The small town of Tjentiste (population 559, 1991 Census), near the northern entrance, is the park's administrative centre.
