And the other swimming options are pretty good too: there’s a lovely pool on site (with a fun paddling pool for the kids) and it’s a short walk to a fab colourful waterpark for more hours of sliding and splashing. There’s plenty more away from the water, too – games of miniature golf, tennis and beach volleyball are on hand, along with a gym, a games room and a play area with bouncy castle. A programme of kids’ activities and more grownup entertainment runs in summer, and there are all sorts of activities organised either through the site or nearby (think horse riding, canoe trips and all sorts of sea-based watersports). Stays here are in well-equipped safari tents so you should have enough kitchen kit to sort self-catering meals (plus a food shop on site for supplies); a barbecue area is close by too. Rather take it easy? Grab a table at the restaurant, beach bar or pizzeria, or pick up a takeaway and head back to the beach.
