About this campground
Storesand is a large, continuous nature and outdoor recreation area, suitable for swimming, hiking, playing and nature experiences, located in the middle of Ytre Hvaler National Park. The recreational area includes Vadholmtangen East, Herreskjær, Paradisbukta, Sjursholmen and Døvika. The coastal path runs right through the area, and along the path you will find several of the fascinating "Whale Tufts" - traces of settlements probably from the Iron Age. You can take the coastal path to Skjærhalden to the east, or over to Rødshue and the sculpture park, and further to Grønne bakke to the west.

Outside the booking period, 1 May to 27 September, the Outdoor Activities Act applies, and tent sites may not be booked. Until 14 June, the sites at Strandengen are not numbered, and you choose the desired site within the marked area. Storesand recreational area has two accommodation areas: Strandengen at Døvika and Furuskogen on the east side of the road between the parking lot and the visitor center. The accommodation areas are shown on the map and marked on the terrain. Here you are welcome to spend the night in a tent, hammock or under the open sky within the marked areas. Outside of numbered pitches and the marked areas, it is not permitted to spend the night in the recreational area.
