Songdog Ranch is at 680 Ballinger Cyn rd, off of Hwy 33 in the Cuyama Valley of California.Ballinger Canyon road is also know as Forest Service Number 9N10. The Ranch it self is east of Highway 33 by 1.5 miles. You will be on the property when you see the wooden split rail fence running along the road. The ranch host lives in the main house near the old wooden windmill on the north side of Ballinger rd. You are invited to stop and visit, but you are welcome to proceed to your camp. To get to the site, continue east up the canyon for about 200 yds past the windmill. On the right (south) there is a dirt road that will take you through the dry creek and up to the top of the 200ft mesa. When you reach the top of this dirt road, it turns around and goes east. This will take you past the Barbeque and around the Songdog Double Fire Site. These sites are along the south border of the property just past the water tank.If you need to modify your booking see the hipcamp help page:

Reviews

AI review summary

This campsite is well-loved by visitors for its spacious sites and beautiful views of the surrounding plains. Reviewers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, including the chemical toilets, and the friendly host who provides firewood for campers. While the open plain can get quite hot during the summer months and shade is limited, the hand-built pergolas at picnic areas offer some relief. Overall, it’s a great spot for camping, especially in the cooler months.
