Why not come and have a browse.Picnic area and marqueeVisitors can enjoy their picnics on our wooden picnic benches placed around the Visitor Centre and Tea Room.For those rainy days we have a spacious marquee next to the Visitor Centre where you can enjoy your picnic. Whatever the weather Snettisham Park will help your day run smoothly.Outside the visitor centre, we have excellent, hygienic hand wash facilities that have knee operated taps and warm water.Deer SafariOur tractor and covered trailer, or Safari Land Rover ride is a magical experience not to be missed. During the 45 minute round trip you will meet and be able to feed our spectacular herd of red deer with over 60 hinds and 2 stags. You can be sure to get an amazing close encounter with our Deer all of which are more than happy to feed from your hands.Safaris normally go 3-4 times daily with the first one at 11.30 though to avoid disappointment later in the day, please ring to confirm as this is subject to change.During the calving months of May, June and July you will be able to see the beautiful spotted calves. During this time the Stags will be growing their new antlers in time for the rutting season towards the end of September. This time of year is the best time to visit the deer park, just be sure to bring a camera.Our knowledgeable and friendly deer park rangers commentate throughout the safari to help you get the most from your experience among these magnificent animals. If you are lucky you might even see some deer swimming in the lakes down in the Ingol valley. During your safari you will learn about the crops we grow and their use.Trails and WalksTHE SHORT FARMING TRAILThe shortest trail is the Farming Trail which takes you on a fascinating walk around our park and farmland. Informative signs help you learn all about our crops, livestock, wild life and farming operations. You will also get a look at our yearling stags (spikers).If you have small children this walk will be a perfect energy burner.Trails and Enjoy one of the 3 trails around Snettisham Park Farm.DISCOVERY TRAILWalk the Discovery Trail through some of our 329 acres of beautiful Norfolk Countryside. An abundance of wildlife and habitats awaits you; we have Pheasants, Partridges (both English or Grey and the red-legged French) Lapwings, Oyster Catchers. Hares, many Rabbits, together with little birds like the Yellowhammer and Skylark which are now increasing in numbers due to the Field Margins and Hedgerow management techniques we have employed.If you are a birdwatcher, bring your binoculars to make sure you don't miss any sightings, or if you are a wildlife photographer bring a camera to make sure you don't miss out on some potentially stunning photos.ARCHAEOLOGICAL TRAILDiscover the rich archaeology of Snettisham Park Farm. Visitors are often surprised to find that our Farm is the site of an important Roman Villa, a Saxon Settlement, the famous St Thomas' Chapel and much more.Other features, found by English Heritage in their field walking survey of Park Farm in 1989, include a large burial mound to the east of St Thomas' Lane, and a further two settlements, possibly tenants of the main Roman Villa.The Archaeology leaflet contains detailed facts regarding the fascinating finds that have been made on our Farm.
