About this campground
Rockcastle Campground was once a developed campground in the London Ranger District of Daniel Boone National Forest, situated in Laurel County near the scenic Rockcastle River. The campground served as a gateway to the Rockcastle and Cumberland River Confluence area, offering access to water recreation and hiking opportunities including the Lakeside North Trail. The facility has been closed and most improvements have been removed by the U.S. Forest Service. While the area may still provide access to trails and the surrounding forest, there are no longer developed camping facilities, water, or maintained amenities at this location. The surrounding Daniel Boone National Forest offers dispersed camping opportunities throughout the forest, subject to the 14-day limit in a 30-day period. Other nearby developed camping options include Bee Rock Campground along the Rockcastle River.
