About this campground
Rock Creek Campground is a scenic lakefront campground located on the southeastern shore of Rock Creek Reservoir in Mt. Hood National Forest. Situated at an elevation of 4,600 feet among mixed oak and ponderosa pine trees, the campground offers 33 sites with many positioned directly on the water's edge, making it popular with families and anglers. The 180-acre reservoir is a highlight for camping here, regularly stocked with rainbow trout and home to bass and bluegill. Boating and canoeing are popular activities, though only electric trolling motors are permitted. An adjacent day use area provides a boat ramp, picnic area, and hiking trails.

Eagles are commonly spotted nesting nearby, and the picnic area closes seasonally to protect nesting eagles. An unmarked trail connects to nearby Sportsman Campground, which offers off-road vehicle trail access. The campground accommodates both tents and RVs up to 35 feet, though there are no hookups. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings with grills, and firewood is available for purchase from the host. The reservoir is used for irrigation and is rarely at full capacity. The campground is located about 30 miles from Government Camp at the base of Mt. Hood, providing access to year-round skiing and additional recreational opportunities.
