Based just 35 minutes’ walk from Saundersfoot, where the sandy cove has shallow bathing water, this small family-run site has a splendid location alright. Tenby, a popular Pembrokeshire seaside town with a castle, 13th-century walls and a harbour where boats depart to Caldey Island, is only five minutes’ drive away too. Dog-friendly? Indeed. Barbecues welcome? That too.Handy facilities? Of course. There’s a fridge and freezer in case you want to store fresh eats from the farm shop five minutes’ walk away.

Other on-site facilities are handy and include ladies and gents’ toilets, handwashing basins, unisex showers, shaver points, washing-up facilities, an ironing board and hot and cold water. For an additional cost, there’s also a washing machine, dryer and payphone available. For the kids, meanwhile, there's a sand play area where they can dig, explore and make friends. The site only accepts families and couples, which keeps things nice and peaceful. Dogs are welcome too as long as they're kept on leads… It's a cracking location for walks for canines (or humans), with the countryside and coast so easily accessible.
