About this campground
Rattan Landing is a small, peaceful Army Corps of Engineers campground situated on approximately 40 acres along the banks of the Kiamichi River in southeast Oklahoma. Located just north of where the Kiamichi River flows into Hugo Lake Reservoir, the campground offers 13 campsites nestled into a quiet setting with woodland, clear fields, and direct river access. Each campsite provides river views and a short walk to the water's edge. The campground features a boat ramp, making it a convenient all-in-one destination for anglers. The Kiamichi River and Hugo Lake offer excellent year-round fishing opportunities, including early season sand bass and slab crappie, summer catfish, and fall bass.

The northern half of Hugo Lake features flooded timber that creates exceptional fishing habitat. Beyond fishing, the area provides access to over 25,000 acres managed for hunting by the Army Corps of Engineers and Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Hugo Lake Dam, completed in 1974, provides flood control, water supply, and fish and wildlife management while creating a recreational oasis. Wildlife around the lake includes waterfowl, bobwhite quail, dove, whitetail deer, mink, fox, and beaver. The lake also offers boating on 8,000 acres of open water with limestone rock walls and sandy banks. Several historical attractions are nearby, including Native American cultural centers and Civil War sites.
