About this campground
Quaking Aspen Group Campground is located in the Giant Sequoia National Monument at 7,200 feet elevation, a quarter mile past the end of State Highway 190. The campground is named for the quaking aspen trees that create a brilliant display of green in spring and russet-gold in fall. Seven group sites are available by reservation only, ranging from small 12-person sites to large 50-person sites, all adjacent to the main family campground. The group sites provide tables and BBQ stoves, with vault toilets and potable water available. RV parking is possible up to 24 feet, but no hookups are provided.

The location offers excellent access to hiking trails throughout the Giant Sequoia National Monument, including routes to distinctive sequoia groves like McIntyre Grove and Freeman Creek. Fishing opportunities exist in nearby Peppermint Creek and the Tule River drainage system. The campground operates under a concessionaire permit with ExplorUS Hospitality Management. Supplies are available at Ponderosa Lodge approximately 2 miles from the campground. The elevation and seasonal access make this an ideal spring through fall destination for groups seeking a mountain camping experience among giant sequoias and aspen groves.
