About this campground

Quiet and Peaceful campervan & caravan camp site inbetween Saunton and Braunton, near to both the village of Braunton and the beaches of Saunton and Croyde. The site is just off the Saunton Road opposite Lobb fields Caravan park. The site is set in 7 acres of beautiful hay meadows. The site is a 3/4 acre level site set in a young fruit orchard & hay meadow. This is a 5 van site for a max of 5 campervans or caravans who are members of the club. The site is licensed by the camping and caravan club, but you can join the club on the site. (Not a member don’t worry, you can stay on this lovely site and just test it out to see if you want to join at a later date.

(We have a small portable chemical tent toilet & basic portable camping tent shower for hire @ £2.50 per night). For those on the hiking the coast path who want to stay a night see belowThe site is near to the sand dunes of the UNESCO Braunton Biosphere and you can hear the crashing waves when the surf is up, just by opening the door. The site is near to ocean and has a wonderful ocean light and in summer the fields are brimming with wild flowers. The nearest beaches are close by at Saunton and Croyde. You can also access the beach over the sand dunes by parking in the Sandy Lane car park which is nearby or the car park at Saunton Beach 1.5 miles along the road. There is a very efficient bus service 200m from the site which will take you to all the nearby beaches & places of interest. The site is near to the art studio of popular local artist and author Pete Caswell. View Pete Caswell’s paintingsIt is wonderful place to cycle from where you can access the Braunton Burrows and Sand Dunes of the UNESCO Bio Sphere reserve via the quiet back lanes. See some photos and info for the reserve. We have some great cycle maps you can borrow or buy for £1 so bring your bikes.If you are a fan of nature the site is a haven for wildlife with many hedgerows and wild areas. The site lies next to Swanpool Marsh nature reserve forms part of the Braunton Swanpool coastal marshland Site of Special Scientific Interest. You can see many different birds at the site which use it as home or pass through on their migrations. Woodpeckers Falcons and large birds of prey are often seen together with a wide a large variety of unusual smaller birds.In the evenings you can walk into Braunton 3/4 mile from the site to sample the many restaurants and pubs which the village has to offer.Distance from campervan site to Croyde beach 2 milesDistance to Saunton Sands Beach 1.5 miles by roadDistance to Saunton Golf Club 1.3 milesDistance to Braunton pubs, restaurants, shops & take aways 3/4 mile.Local shop, bus and surfhire within 200mDogs On Leads Please. We do allow dogs but they must be ON A LEAD and under control at all times. No exceptions to this unfortunately. WE don’t like this rule but because of problems with dog mess and dogs running onto other people’s pitches while not on leads we have to have this rule for everyone, even well behaved dogs. Horses also in neighbouring fields so dogs must be be stock friendly.No arrivals after 9.30pm ( Unless previously arranged) and no vehicle movements on site after 10.30 pm. If you do arrive late, please park in the car park until morning. ThanksFacilities- Electric Hook ups - Fresh Water - Bins & Recycling - Chemical Disposal TankWinter openingWe are now open all Winter preferably by arrangement. Please email or phone to book. Its not essential to book you can just turn up. I am about most days but if the gate is locked give me a ring and I will let you in. We have hardstanding areas with electric if it is wet, but the field is pretty good most of the year. Discounts for 2 or more nights in winter.
