Anything our community should know before heading out to Ocean City State Park? 3 Comments on “Ocean City State Park” Joodie Klinke says: Dec 12 2016 at 8:47 pm We stayed here in February 2015 in our 24′ Chinook Destiny. This is a popular park for razor clamming (not for us) and there were a fair number of campers there for that reason this time of year, but folks were pretty spread out and quiet. There is only one short trail in the park with a small deck to overlook a pond, a few benches, and some botanical identification signs. We couldn’t complete the loop due to wintery trail sogginess. Almost all activity here takes place on the beach, for us that was walking and running. Several short trails connect the campground to the beach. The winter sand is hard-packed and easy to maneuver on. Notable wildlife was bald eagles, sand pipers, and a river otter! The sunsets are gorgeous — dress for the very chilly wind this time of year. A 1.5 mile walk south takes you to the town of Ocean Shores, a popular tourist town with all the amenities. The campground was a ghost town, but they wouldn’t let us move. We ended up parking our truck in the neighboring site, to keep our gene running. We spent one night, and then packed up and left. What a shitty mini vacation. Reply Your Comment / Rating / Review: Cancel replyYour Rating Name * Email * Website Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
