About this campground
Overview Open all year. Camping facilities include toilets, chemical disposal point, water standpipe and ‘camping shower’. Sorry, no electric hook-ups at the moment. Dogs welcome but must be kept on leads. Set in 2.5 acres of rural landscape mainly laid to grass on the idyllic Isle of Wight. The site has views over the surrounding countryside and distant sea views. Enjoy the relaxed back to nature camping experience with amazing sunsets and enjoy the dark skies star show. No designated pitches. Advanced booking essential. Adjacent to Calbourne Mill - one of the oldest working water mills in the country, with a cafe and miniature golf.

There is a public footpath next to the site which provides access to the nearby village of Calbourne and beyond to Brighstone Forest / Mottistone Down one of the Island’s popular walking/cycling routes. On a bus route to the charming towns of Freshwater and Yarmouth and to the county town of Newport. This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example. *Tents are not permitted on some CS sites in Scotland. 2.6 acres, level.
