About this campground
One of the prettiest thatched cottages in the New Forest”, Martins Farm is a 400 year old thatched cottage gifted by King Charles I, located in the heart of the New Forest National Park. This well established certified location has electric hook up available for all 5 pitches & is open all year round with hard standing available, allowing parking during the wetter months of the year.The site consistently receives good reviews and feedback, being well maintained, off the beaten track and very flat! It is a very peaceful site, surrounded by fields, hedges and oak trees. Numerous owls, bats, foxes, birds of prey and even deer are your closest neighbours.

In addition to this, the owners have horses, cats, 3 Gloucester Old Spot piglets and a puppy!Along with excellent local amenities and pubs, one of the most attractive features of the site is the excellent walking available from it. Just a few minutes walk in either direction takes you straight on the Forest – perfect for keen walkers, cyclists and canine friends.The owners, Jasper and Tory are keen to help and support all those visiting the site. However, please note that they both work full time and so may not be able to answer telephone calls or emails during the day but they will endeavour to respond within the same day.Peace and tranquillity set in a lovely, natural environment make this adults only site a quiet haven.Open all year round with hard standing available for those wetter months when access onto the grass is not permitted.ServicesElectricity hookupTwo hook up points are posited in the caravan parking area - enough for 5 pitches in totalDrinking waterA tap is located close to the caravan parking areaToilet facilityThe communal toiled is located by the farm house. We are also on the bus route for access into Southampton for events such as the boat show.There are several lovely local pubs serving a variety of hot and cold food all dayThe local shop is within walking distance, open from 6am to 7pm EVERY day of the week even Bank Holidays for all those essential items. It also includes a Post OfficeVarious amenities, attractions, and activities are within easy reach of the caravan siteSwimming at Totton Recreation or Romsey Rapids both 15 mins awayShopping Morrisons + Petrol 7 mins, Asda + Petrol and local shops 10 mins, Waitrose & the Historic Town of Romsey with local shops 15 mins away. Local shop is a short walkLocal Post office for everything is within walking distance and they are open from 6am to 7pm every day of the week including Sunday.Pubs. Two are within a walking distance. The Haywain, family type pub and the highly recommended Coach & Horses with fantastic food, copy of menu available on site.Bus service run regularly to Southampton, just along from the CL site. We are also viewable on Google Street View.From Junction 1 on the M27 head east on the A31At the next roundabout go straight over to the A336Along the A336 on your right you will pass a caravan sales, a garden centre, then a cross roadAt the cross roads turn right, passing a pub on your left as you turn in to New Inn RoadGo down to the off set cross roads turn left in to Chinham Road, passing the corner shop and post officeA few 100 yards down on on the right turn in to Shepherds RoadAfter about ½ a mile turn right in to our caravan site. It is not easy to see and is set well back from the road
