Lopez River Wilderness Campground — Everglades National Park

Within Everglades National Park, Lopez River Wilderness Campground provides boat-in access camping along the mangrove-lined Lopez River. The National Park Service manages this ground camping site, which requires a paddle of approximately six miles from Chokoloskee or nine miles from the Everglades Gulf Coast Center. The site accommodates up to 12 people across three designated groups, though only two areas have picnic tables and adequate space for tents. Campers should prepare for heavy mosquito and no-see-um activity, particularly during evening hours when remaining inside tents becomes necessary. The campground prohibits fires despite being ground camping rather than platform camping.
