About this campground
Overview A sheltered glade twixt lakes and fells, an exclusive adult only site for caravans and motor homes. Good off road walks around the site. Honey-pot tourist attractions a stones throw away; High Dam, Stott Park Bobbin Mill, the Quay at Lakeside, The Lakes Aquarium, Windermere Lake Cruises and the Steam Train, all within half a mile. A plethora of Lake District tourist attractions further a-field; Fell Foot, Lakeland Motor Museum, Hill Top (home of Beatrix Potter), Hawkshead, Levens Hall, Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle, to name but a few. We are half a mile after Lakeside Hotel (cosy bar!) Look for 5 van site sign on stone wall on the left. Turn into site in 50 yards between two cottages.

Should you miss the turning, carry on towards Hawkshead. There is a possible turning area in front of a gateway half mile on Left just before YMCA South Car Park and return. Paddle Boarding possible at YMCA and Fell Foot (NT) Wild Water swimming at High Dam and Windermere - the lake! Please contact the campsite directly if you have any questions about opening dates, facilities or additional measures at this campsite. This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
