It lies within the area of North Nottinghamshire known as the Dukeries. The name comes from four historic neighbouring Ducal Estates. Apart from Welbeck, these included Clumber, Thoresby, and Worksop Manor. Depending on where you drew the line, the Estates between them covered some 88 thousand acres, giving the Dukeries at the time some of the qualities of a self-contained world.Today Welbeck is still a working estate and contains a Grade 2 registered historic park designed in 1748 by Francis Richardson; ancient woodlands and forestry; a beautiful chain of lakes; farmland and grazing; a deer park; and some of the country’s most important rural heritage buildings. At its heart lies the historic Welbeck Abbey and Welbeck Village.A visit to Welbeck is an extraordinary experience. There’s a wide variety of things to do - a course at the School of Artisan Food or a visit to the Harley Gallery - a whole lot to see, from the atmospheric Creswell Crags prehistoric gorge to the Victorian splendours of the Welbeck Abbey tours - and plenty of opportunity to buy things, from local meats and seasonal produce at the Welbeck Farm Shop to garden plants and gifts at the Dukeries Garden Centre. There’s a lot to enjoy, so spend some time with us.We have a Caravan and Camping Site at Lady Margaret Hall with 5 pitches.Welbeck Farm ShopAt the Welbeck Farm Shop we take pride in offering produce from Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, which has earned us both a local and national reputation. Most recently we won the UK’s FARMA award for ‘Best on Farm Butchery’ 2013. Our award winning butchery stocks meat from the Welbeck Estate, our deli features British Cheese from Neal’s Yard Dairy along with our own delicious sausage rolls and pasties, and our fruit and vegetable displays offer seasonal produce from our trusted network of local growers.Limehouse CaféThe Limehouse Café is loved for its sleek and stylish interior and delicious menu, with homemade treats and dishes which use ingredients from The Welbeck Farm Shop.
