About this campground
Kohutu has been a family dairy farm for 106 years at the foothills of the Tararua Forest Park, 1 hour from Wellington and 10 mins from Waikawa Beach. Pip and John have an extensive garden with established trees, plus orchard (with pigs (usually) and chickens) and large vegetable garden. Enjoy a beautiful evening or early morning walk to the top of the hill. A camping site is also available on grass and under shade trees when the ground is firm. Guests are welcome to use all the areas around the house eg the front lawn/swimming pool. Kids can jump on the trampoline, ride a bike or kick a ball round the old tennis court. Enjoy a river swim 5 mins walk away. Cows are usually milked once a day in the morning.
