With a wealth of wildlife to enjoy and explore, Kennexstone Farm Camping & Touring Park is your unique opportunity to enjoy the complete rich diversity the Gower Peninsula has to offer. For visitors with more energetic requirements, the peninsula offers a huge range of sporting and countryside activities including surfing, golf, pony trekking, archery, rock climbing, mountain boarding, Geocaching and superb fishing (both shore and boat). Gower even caters for hang gliding and para gliding enthusiasts at the nearby Rhossili Downs. With some of the most spectacular views in the whole of the UK and containing a comprehensive and diverse set of wildlife habitats, make camping on the Gower at Kennexstone Farm camping site your first choice for your camping and caravanning holiday plans.Kennexstone Farm is situated on the north west corner of the Gower Peninsula, Britain's first 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.'The park covers an area of 10 acres and is divided into 3 parts.Total number of units permited is 240.Open from the 1st April to 30th September.Mostly level and is set back from the main road with good access.Pet friendlyChild friendlyThere are several different beaches within 2 miles, one of which has some of the best surfing in Wales and another borders a National Trust Nature Reserve. The area is ideal for those who are looking to get away from it all, with pleasant walks, stunning scenery and 6 country pubs/hotels within 3 miles, all serving meals, if you want to forget about washing up.We have a lot of ideas for future developments on the park, but due to the very stringent planning rules that apply within Gower, we have to be very careful that any development is not detrimental to the surrounding countryside and we are constantly discussing ways in which to achieve this, with the local planning authority.Over the years, we have tried to run the farm in a manner that encourages the natural diversity of the area, and are proud of the number of different plant, animal, bird and insect species now resident on the farm. Most of our visitors tell us that they appreciate the "non commercial" feel of the park, and stay with us for that very reason, with a good number having returned regularly for over 25 years.FacilitiesCamping Park - AmenitiesAmenities block which incorporates:Ladies and Gents toilets and showers.Sinks, shaver points, electric sockets for hair dryers, tongs, etc.Separate disabled toilet and shower facilities. The original farmhouse, however, dated from 1610 and is now on display at St. Fagan's Museum of Welsh Life. This earlier farmhouse, which is a fine example of the old Welsh Long House style of building, originally consisted of just a small parlour and a loft room. The farm must have been turning a nice profit, however, as later in the century a living room was added to the farmhouse and a back kitchen constructed on to the property later again, probably around 1750. This late addition explains the uncommon presence of two open hearths in the house - one in kitchen and the other in the parlour.DirectionsExit M4 motorway at junction 47 (services), at flyover take 2nd exit A483 (dual carriageway) at next roundabout, turn right onto A484. Follow road for approx 10 miles, until you pass through the village of Burry Green. After 3/4 mile, please turn right onto Kyfts Lane at the first road junction (camping park sign on junction). Entrance is 200m on left, 20m before the cattle grid.If you are using a Sat Nav, please type in the name Kyfts Lane before our postcode SA3 1HS, because the building the postcode is registered to is 300m past the turning for Kyfts Lane and the entrance to the site. There are several M4 exits that your Sat Nav will direct you to take before junction 47, but normally this junction is the fastest way to get to us.If you have any problems or get lost trying to find us, please call 01792 386790.
