Our local recommendations: - Takarunga/ Mount Victoria is Auckland's highest volcano, rising to 66 meters in height. - Denniston Coal Mining is a historical site known as New Zealand's largest-producing coal mine. - The Cape Foulwind Walk has a rocky headland and a viewpoint overlooking a New Zealand fur seal breeding colony. - Charming Creek Walking Trail, which is a 2-hr drive from the West Coast, is a walking (or mountain biking ) trail that leads to a disused railway line via tunnels, bridges, and deep gorges.
