Horse Camping

Campers must bring their own horses and follow strict guidelines including using certified weed-free hay to prevent invasive species introduction, never leaving horses unattended due to the presence of wild horses throughout the park, and removing all manure piles from the campsite. Portable corrals are permitted. Out-of-state horses require a current Coggins test. The campground provides seasonal vault toilets, cold showers, and potable water when operational. The location offers access to miles of scenic beach and trail riding through diverse coastal habitats. Reservations are required from October 16 through April 14 and can be made up to six months in advance through Recreation.gov. Sites are $80 per night, and a separate vehicle entrance fee of $25 applies. Firewood must be purchased locally and cannot be brought from out of state.
