Civilisation: who needs it? Get back to the wilderness at this well-appointed site in Namibia’s Kunene region, where desert elephants roam and klipspringers leap from rock to rock. A 20-minute drive from the very fine vistas of the Grootberg Pass and an hour from the town of Kamanjab, Hoada Campsite takes its name from the local Damara tribe’s word for ‘everyone’. All are indeed made welcome on this friendly site, each of whose generously-sized pitches can accommodate group parties and vehicles. Each pitch comes with its own kitchen and a braai/barbecue area with seating so you can sit together as the sun sets, watching the flames and seeing your evening feast sizzle.
