The car park has been established by the municipality in collaboration with Sandnes Havn and Sandnes Tomteselskap and is located along the harbor promenade, near the town hall. A perfect location if you want to use the town of Sandnes or if you want to leave the car and take a train or bus to Stavanger, Egersund or other places in the region. If you bring a bicycle, or rent a city bicycle, you have access to many cycle paths that take you to great hiking areas, both along the fjord, the sea and the mountains. Sandvedparken stretches 3.5 km along Storånå, and is a great park area with playgrounds, exercise equipment, a sand volleyball court, hiking trails, idyllic rest areas and @Parkkaféen with its wonderful bowls (opening hours on Facebook). It is a short distance to Langgata, Norway's longest shopping street, where you will find several exciting niche shops, cozy cafes and eateries. It is also within walking distance of the Vitenfabrikken, Sandnes cultural center, cinema, library, tourist office and several large shopping centres.
