About this campground
Rusty Bar Ranch is a 30 acre working horse ranch, located 2.5 miles from the city of Roy, 11 miles from the city of Yelm and 25 miles from the city of Tacoma. We offer several parking locations on our ranch. A few have electrical and water hookups. We do not offer wastewater dumping. Our ranch is gated, and our property is secure. Should you stay longer than overnight and want to explore the surrounding area, we will gladly enter a code into our gate monitoring system so you may come and go from the ranch at your leisure. Note: We feed our horses a fly control product. We work hard to keep our ranch as pest free and pleasant as possible for both horses and humans.

We have 2 portable firepits for rent, and are happy to set them up in a safe area should you want to have a fire and enjoy the great outdoors. We have deer, elk, coyotes and lots of birds who call the ranch home, or pass through during the night. We have barn owls who live in our arena and 3 active sets of parents who produce clutches of babies every year. The ranch is calm, peaceful, and inviting. We have an area called Lookout Point. You are welcome to walk out, sit and soak up the panorama view of the property. We have 2 Rydeables for rent if you would like to take a ride around the ranch. Midnight and Mocha are a fun ride. We have the ONLY fully interactive riding simulator, not only in WA state, but the entire west coast. Sheena lives in a climate controlled room, so weather is never a problem. From beginner to advanced, Sheena has something for you. Helmets provided. We also offer handling, bonding and riding experiences on our live horses as well. Each riding experience is customized to the rider. All mounted horse experiences are handled by me. I am a Certified Horsemanship Association instructor, with other teaching certifications as well. We also have locally raised honey for sale. We purchase it from an apiary in Roy. It is packaged in beautiful jars and ready to take with you to the next location. We have a full service restroom at the end of Sheena's room for your use. There is also a small stacking washer and dryer that you may use for $2.00 per load. We have incredible internet service through StarLink. With the exception of the back part of the property, at the bottom of the hill, internet access is awesome. Your welcome packet has the log-information. Welcome! We look forward to hosting you.
