About this campground
Welcome to Swart Estate on the Florida Prairie! Hello, my name is David Swart and I live here on the property full time. I am a retired Army Veteran who likes to share my experiences and my property. Come relax on our 7.5-acre private property, home to 3,200 giant oak trees, happy goats, and free-range chickens. I live here full-time and dedicate myself to the upkeep of our special home. For a small donation of $40 a night, you can enjoy this private nature preserve. Your stay includes electric and water hookups, use of all our amenities, and a few complimentary free-range eggs for breakfast! Enjoy the privacy and quiet of the estate and, of course, our friendly goats.

Feel free to extend your stay with us. Just minutes from the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park where you can: Stargazing & Astronomy Stargazing: Due to its remote location and lack of light pollution, the park is a premier spot for viewing the night sky. You can often see the Milky Way, planets, and celestial bodies with the naked eye. Astronomy Pads: Designated viewing areas, often reserved for campers, provide ideal spots for setting up telescopes and astrophotography equipment. Exploring the Trails With over 100 miles of multi-use trails (mostly dirt roads and service roads), the park is excellent for: Hiking Bicycling (Off-road biking is popular) Horseback Riding (The park has an equestrian campground and trails are shared) Wildlife & Nature Observation Birding: The preserve offers exceptional seasonal birding, as it's a critical habitat for numerous species, including the endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow, Crested Caracara, and Burrowing Owl. Wildlife Viewing: Keep an eye out for white-tailed deer, alligators, various snakes, and over 85 species of butterflies. Dawn and dusk are often the best times for sightings. Ranger-Led Buggy Tours: From approximately November through March, visitors can take a guided, elevated buggy tour into the remote areas of the prairie for a unique viewing and educational experience (reservations are usually required). NOTE: To ensure the privacy of our guest's, we only accept one group of visitors at a time. NOTE: Donations required when booking. Ensures exclusive privacy and usage of estate.
