About this campground
Welcome to Oregon's longest running store. It all started in 1896 here in the wonderful John Day valley. We have always been a Mercantile since 1894. Enjoy our oasis and local swimming holes, fishing and hunting all year around in this special area. Also take our dinosaur tail adventure. Our store caters to the fossil hunter, and if you’re hungry see our wonderful cafe. Enjoy the Sheep Rock Unit of the Fossil Beds and our paleontology center museum right next door. To complement your stay u can tour the old store anytime. We look forward to seeing you!
