About this campground

A Choice of Sites! We have 2 CLs on our property. The original Greenacres CL was we believe opened in 1983. The Greenacres Farm CL had its first visitors in 2008. Whilst the 2 sites are only 100 metres apart there are no shared facilities and the 2 sites are separated by mature poplar, conifer and fruit trees. Both sites are restricted to 5 caravans/motor homes at any one time and neither have WC or shower facilities.

Note that when approaching from the B4425 the newer Greenacres Farm site is before you get to the house and the original Greenacres site is past the house.Greenacres CLThe site has easy access, is flat, has 5 hardstanding pitches with the remainder being lawned, all pitches have access to a 16 amp electric hook up and 5 pitches have a water tap. It is sheltered on 3 sides by trees and hedges with the remaining side looking out over open countryside.Greenacres Farm CLThe site is in excess of an acre, has easy access, is flat, regularly mown and each of the 5 pitches (18 metres apart) has its own 16 amp electric hook up and water supply.Open All YearBoth sites are open all year although we would suggest that the original Greenacres CL with its hardstandings is the better option from November to February.DogsDogs are very welcome but must be kept contained or on a lead when within the CL. We have 2 fields adjoining the CLs and one will normally contain sheep and the other will be empty to allow dogs to be run free. Which field has the sheep will vary. Normal rules about cleaning up afterwards apply.Caravan Club Members OnlyBoth sites are Certificated Locations (CLs) restricted to members of the Caravan Club and run by Alan and Elizabeth Franklin. Please do not attempt to book if you are not a member if the Caravan Club as in no circumstances will we accept your booking.LocationThe sites are located about half a mile from the beautiful Cotswold village of Bibury in a rural setting.Public TransportThere are 5 buses a day into Cirencencester and 4 buses back. The bus stop is about 500 yards from the sites. The cost of the return journey is about £3.50. More details can be found by following the 'Timetables' link on the Pulham's Coaches website. It is the 855 Moreton to Cirencester serviceWiFiWe are a BT wifi (formally BT Fon/Bt Openzone) hotspot and access to this network is achievable from the Farm site. Visitors have connected from pitches D and E which are the furthest pitches from the router. However we have found that the range is reduced if there are vans on the pitches closer to the router. Experience would suggest that tablets are not as good at picking up a signal as laptops. If connection from the pitch is not possible then it should be possible to connect from the information hut which contains a computer desk, chair, lighting and a power socket to allow access in comfort! BT wifi is free to BT Broadband customers. For others access costs are about £6 per day. Access from the original site is probably not possible at the moment. Feedback from visitors would be appreciated as this will allow us to improve the service.Gardens and Garden ProduceThe garden at Greenacres is now listed in the NGS Yellow book and is open to the public 1 day a year as part of that scheme. If you would like to look round during your visit then please ask. You will find full details of our garden here. Garden produce is often on sale supplied fresh from the garden. At some point during the season we aim to have the following for sale:- rhubarb, tomatoes, runner beans, courgettes, lettuce, leeks, peppers, chillies, marrows, beetroot, apples, plums and herbs. All proceeds from sales will go to the Alzheimer's Society. Why Alzheimers?Information HutThere is an information hut on both sites which is well stocked with 'places to visit' leaflets, details of the local places to eat, maps, telephone directories etc. Self CateringWe now have a spacious detached annex available for self catering accomodation. Click here for more information about this Cotswold holiday accomodation. RalliesWe are no longer hosting caravan rallies as we wish to concentrate our efforts on the CLs.DirectionsFor those with Sat Nav Greenacres is located in Hay Lane. Note that this is not part of our postal address, there are no Hay Lane signs and nor will anybody in Bibury know the whereabouts of Hay Lane!!If you are travelling from the South West or South Wales then we would advise using the M5 route rather than the M4.From M5Leave at junction 11a and take A417 to Cirencester. Exit the A417 at the Burford Road Junction (Cirencester) and turn left along the B4425 to Bibury. Approx. 2 miles after the village of Barnsley take the first left at the cross roads (sign posted Foss Cross and Chedworth. NB if you pass the Bibury village/40mph sign you have missed the turn by about 30 yards!!. Greenacres is about 500 yards along this road on the right hand side. The Greenacres Farm CL entrance is a few yards BEFORE the house, the Greenacres CL entrance is a few yards AFTER the house. From OxfordTake the A40 to Burford. About a mile after Burford turn left along the B4425. Keep on this road, crossing the river by the Swan Hotel, and pass through Bibury. A few hundred yards after leaving Bibury take the far right hand turn at the cross roads (sign posted Foss Cross and Chedworth). Greenacres is about 500 yards along this road on the right hand side. The Greenacres Farm CL entrance is a few yards BEFORE the house, the Greenacres CL entrance is a few yards AFTER the house. From M4Leave at junction 15 and take the A419 to Cirencester. This becomes the A417 near Cirencester. Exit the A417 at the Burford Road Junction (Cirencester) and turn right along the B4425 to Bibury. From M40 (North)Leave at junction 15 and take the A429 (Foss Way) towards Cirencester. Keep on this road through Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Northleach. Pass the Fossbridge Hotel then take the left turn to Bibury opposite the Hare & Hounds pub and a few yards after the speed camera (There are several signposted left turns to Bibury BEFORE the turn you want, ignore them....wait until you see the speed camera!). Note that a 'unsuitable for long vehicles' sign has recently been erected on the entrance to this road, in my view road width is good with lots of passing places but care is needed with a couple of bends. Keep on this road for about 2 miles round a sharp right bend immediately followed by a sharp left with a large barn conversion on the left. Greenacres is about a quarter of a mile after these bends on the left hand side. The Greenacres CL entrance is a few yards BEFORE the house, the Greenacres Farm CL entrance is a few yards AFTER the house.
