We have a modern, spacious and well maintained shower, toilet and laundry block on site and there is a small shop from which you can get milk, bread and farm fresh eggs etc. * Pets welcome, areas set aside for dog walking.* Takeaway breakfasts are available.* Gas exchange.* Great play area for children* Communal cabin area providing a meeting, eating area with TV, microwaves and undercover barbecue area etcWe are popular with both families, walkers, school groups and Duke of Edinburgh students.Our location means we are surrounded by great walking country and there is an endless list of activities to do and places of interest to visit within the local area.Camping PodEach pod has plenty headroom and a floor area of approx 8 metres square, ample space for 2 people or even 2 adults and 2 smaller children.We now have both standard and family sized pods. Each pod has electric lights and heating and are provided with deep filled futon type mattresses.Pod guests will require all camping equipment except for their tent.Wake up to the stunning views of Blencathra and surrounding fells, take a stroll down to the farmhouse and collect your freshly prepared breakfast rolls and croissants, with hot mugs of tea or coffee.Those staying on site can take advantage of all the other site facilities. Unfortunately we do not accept dogs in the pods.Pods offer a convenient alternative to the tent but retain all the ambiance of the camping holiday.Benefits include:* Already set up when you arrive* More privacy and security than a tent* No wind whipping or flapping to keep you awake* No putting up and taking down of wet tents* Decking area for dining, sunbathing, and chilling out.* A guaranteed dry place to accommodate our variable Lake District weather.* Our Pods also have a double socket with a small lamp and for the colder months a small heater is provided.Gypsy WagonFor greater comfort our vintage gypsy wagon has a small kettle for that early morning brew, heating for chilly weather, power for charging modern day gadgets & lighting included.The wagon sleeps 2 on a pull out double bed, not suitable for those over 6ft! These are within easy reach, operating between Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. The 3 historic vessels date from Victorian times and 2 have been operating on Ullswater for almost 110 years!Theatre by the Lake Our nearest town is Keswick an attractive market town sitting on shores of Derwentwater, offering a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, cinema, crafts, museums, excellent eating places, water sports, boat hire, climbing wall and a very successful "Theatre by the Lake", along with excellent shopping facilities all set within beautiful scenery.Rookin HouseNearby there is golfing, fishing, swimming, or why not try your hand at one of the many exciting activities on offer at Rookin House Farm Outdoor Activity Centre. It offers a wide range of activities - such as quad-bikes, pony trekking, archery and clay pigeon shooting.RhegedRheged is Europe's largest grass covered building and a winner of the global "BA Tourism for Tomorrow Awards". Over 1 Million visitors have visited the Rheged discovery centre since it opened in 2000. DirectionsLeave the M6 motorway at junction 40 and take the A66 to Keswick. At the Troutbeck Hotel T-junction take the A5091 signposted Ullswater. After 100 yds turn right for Gill Head.
